You all know how much I love to paint, buy paint supplies, DIY, and all the things! This is one of my FAVORITE DIYS for Spring!!!
Home Depot, and probably any place that sells paint supplies, sell empty galvanized paint cans for under $5. I bought mine at Home Depot for under $5.
I also bought a small bag of Garden Soil (this Miracle Grow is more for in ground plants, but it was cheap and will do the trick for what I need the same), and I bought my favorite year round plant, Boxwood. The boxwood was a taller plant with two plants, which was $19.98 at my Home Depot.
First, I wanted to add a little simple home charm to my paint buckets. Of course, you can also leave them plain, but I’m need some embellishment! So, I went to my Chalk Couture stash and grabbed a couple transfers. These ones are older and retired, BUT they have so many more to choose from now if you love BEES or HOME words! (Click the link above to shop or become a designer on my team!) I used Black Chalkology Paste
These (silk screen) transfers are amazing, high quality, detailed, and can be used 12-15x, sometimes more!
How CUTE are these paint cans now?!?! Make sure you seal your Chalk paste. I use a Spray Matte Clear. Spray from a distance so you don’t get to much liquid and it runs down the side of your container. I let it sit in the sun for about 15 minutes afterwards until I could rub my finger on the print and it didn’t smear.
Next, just add your plants!
I didn’t end up using the lid, but I saved it, because you never know when it may come in handy!
And finished! What do you think of the finished product? I love it and it looks great on my front porch bench!
